Revival of the Silk Road will bring major changes in the economy of Central Asia. China, restoring its part of the Silk Road, of course, does not rest on its laurels. After 2010, the Chinese will begin a large-scale investment in road construction and other infrastructure and transport projects in Central Asia. This is required by the logic of the project of restoration of the ancient trade artery. New Silk Road will not have the same meaning as in ancient times, if it does not make it to Rotterdam.

For Kazakhstan, this means the following: construction of transit roads East – West and the establishment transport logistics centers should be conducted rapidly, ensuring the readiness of Kazakhstan Great Silk Road connect with the Chinese. Given that China’s access to resources is identical to the control (as exemplified by the oil sector), the only way to convert a “transit potential” in the economic dividends – is self-realization of all necessary infrastructure projects.
